Pay close attention to any scabs caused by Dermatophilus Congolensis bacteria in the mud that is often splashed onto animals during wet weather. However, this bacteria is not always the cause of itchy scabs. Some mites can cause a similar condition in dry conditions. Common spots where you’ll see such scabs are in the fetlocks, neck, thighs, and belly.
Our Scab Ointment will help clear the bacteria as well as mites, soften the scab, and help them fall off. Very often you’ll hear such scabs called Mud Fever, Rain Scald, Sheep Scald etc… Our ointment can be used on most animals that have such scabs, including farm animals.

Pre-wash the area with our FLORIS NATURALS liquid soap (such as our dry skin, anti-fungal soap) which will deep cleanse and prepare a clean surface for the ointment. You can also use a cloth to rinse the affected area itself. Then apply our ointment twice a day (do not double dip in the ointment pot; you can use a different finger or a cue tip to get some more ointment).
