GERMAN CHAMOMILE diluted with Jojoba Oil 5%

Botanical Name: Matricaria chamomilla L

Plant Part: Flowers

Extraction Method: Steam Distilled

Description: The Chamomile German plant is an annual, reaching up to 60cm in height. From May to August it flowers, sporting top-heavy flower heads with a fragrance similar to apples.

Color: Bluish green to deep blue liquid.

Common Uses: German Chamomile contains azulene, which gives the oil a deep blue color. This blue crystal is not actually present in the plant itself, but forms in the oil. The quality of the oil is generally graded by its azulene content, and a good quality oil will contain between 4.5 – 5%.

Consistency: Medium

Note: Middle

Strength of Aroma: Medium

Blends well with: Bergamot, Clary Sage, Lavender, Geranium, Jasmine, Neroli, Patchouli, Tea Tree, Rose, Lemon and Ylang–ylang.

Aromatic Scent: Chamomile German Essential Oil has a sweet scent like apples and straw.

History: Derived from the Greek word meaning ‘ground apple’, it was a plant of many uses. To the Egyptians it was a herb dedicated to both the sun and moon, and was considered to have many healing abilities.

Cautions: May trigger a reaction in those who suffer from hay fever or have allergies to grass; a skin test should be performed before use. It should be avoided during pregnancy.
